What do you need to know?
If you have been notified of a traffic violation (a fine), this procedure will allow you to consult the information in the file and pay the fine. The notice may be hand-delivered by a traffic officer, or you may receive it by mail or electronically (if you have an electronic road address).
If you have received a notice with the maximum payment date printed on the notice that has passed or is about to, it's still possible to make the payment with reduction in 50%, if the reduction is allowed for the offence type, for 20 days from the notification using one of the following payment methods:
- Asking for an appointment at the Territorial Traffic Services offices
- Via Internet at multestransit.gencat.cat
- By phone (012)
- Using Trànsit app

Pay with a 50% discount
If you pay within 20 calendar days after being notified of the fine, you will receive a 50% discount on the amount of the fine.
When you choose this option, you waive the right to file an objection to the fine.
You cannot benefit from this 50% discount if the violation is:
- Driving a vehicle with radar jammers or any other mechanism that interferes with the proper functioning of traffic surveillance systems. Important! Warning systems that inform where traffic monitoring systems are located are not included.
- Failure to identify who was the driver responsible for the infraction when requested from the owner of the vehicle within the established period (20 days from receipt of the request).
- Carrying out road works without the authorisation of the Catalan Traffic Service.
- Removing, altering or damaging road work signs (whether permanent or occasional) on a stretch of road.
- Failure to install or improper installation of construction signs (road safety problems).
- Failure to comply with the rules of the regulations governing industrial activities that affect road safety.
- In case of having a driving school, not complying with the rules that determine the qualification of the teachers, the condition of the vehicles or other aspects that have an impact on road safety.

- In person at any CaixaBank branch office
- In person at the regional traffic services.
- Enforceable payment
If you have not paid the fine within the voluntary period, the Catalan Traffic Service will send the file to the Catalan Tax Agency. The Tax Agency will notify you that the file is being enforced, with the corresponding surcharge. For more information, please contact the Catalan Tax Agency (ATC).
No fees are levied for this procedure.
